XLately I've been thinking about trying out a standing desk but I can't decide if they're actually worth it or just the latest trend in hipster land...
Has anyone ever tried one and do you think it was fun to switch up the sitting with some standing or just plain painful and annoying?

XName: Gabriela Florez (she uses her mother’s last name)
Nationality: Columbian
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Height: 1.63m
Weight: 62 kg
Breast Size: B-Cup
Hair Color: Dark
Hair Length: Long, pony tail
Job/Profession: Computer scientist
Background:
Gabriela Florez grew up in the Columbian slums. She’s the youngest and only daughter in a very big family. Her brothers and fathers were all small-time criminals. After the dead of two of her brothers at a drug deal that went wrong, her father (Rodrigo Garcia) became an alcoholic. Sadly for her mother Isabella Florez, he was the mean kind of drunk. Whenever her father started yelling at her mother, Gabriela locked herself up in her room and escaped from this violent and illogical reality to the logical world of computers.
Rodrigo yelled at her mother all the time and even hit her sometimes but Isabella stayed with him because she always hoped things would go back to the way they used to be. Then one day, Gabriela’s computer burned out after 10 years of extensive use. When she cried because she just lost “her alternate reality”, her father got annoyed and in his drunk mood hit her. That was the last drop for her mother and she fled with Gabriela that very night. She knew she had to get as far away as possible or he would come after her but she didn’t have enough money for two people to travel very far so she used it all for a one-way ticket to Japan for Gabriela while she would stay behind and find shelter wherever she could. Gabriela swore she’d earn enough money to come and get her mother and finally give her the life she deserved.
Sadly, when she finally reached Japan she discovered that despite her amazing skills nobody would hire her without a proper degree. So she eventually started working as a cleaning lady, but it hardly paid enough to support herself let alone bring her mother here.
But one day she discovers a little spy camera while cleaning and was so intrigued by it, she decided to track where it came from. Using a library computer she was able to track the signal to The Mystic Shop. When she entered and asked around, Sana responded she had never seen it in her life. Disappointed she left the store and went home. But in front of her apartment she found a little green doll with a recorded message: “Meet me at the slums”. Scared, but intrigued she decided to go and that’s where she met a man named SimMan. When she told him how she tracked the signal with so little means, he realized her potential and he hired her to work in Mystic Shop's computer HQ. She’d only have to work, let’s say about another 100 days :p, to earn enough to bring her mother to a good life in Japan.
Possible storylines:
1) Dateable
The player meets her when she’s replacing a broken spy camera in the school.
Initially she’s pretty shy and covers up her whole body because she’s so used to hiding herself but after getting to know the player better, she gradually opens up and eventually comes beautifully dressed to their first real date. (and later he undresses her and she became even more beautiful :p)
Possible storylines include her father/brother coming to Japan to find her or her having to go back to Columbia to get her mother. In the first case, you’d have to hide her in your home as a part of a relationship level up where she sees her brother and asks you to hide her until he leaves. While hiding she explains how she got here and everything. Nearing DAY 100, she tells you she has enough money and has to go back to Columbia to find her mother. If you choose her, SimMan finds and brings her mother over as her Prom present (or you do something for him to make him do that).
2) Character with some story
You see her when replacing a spy camera and you follow her to the Mystic Shop. Intrigued you go inside, but Sana won’t let you go back until you collect everything for her.
Once you can go to the back of the store, she gives you some extra things to do (like for example install a camera in the girls lockerroom -> possible scene with some other girls) and if you impress her enough, you might get lucky :p Or maybe after you meet her, she tells you who she is and when you go back outside her dad is standing outside the store ready to enter. You stop him (fight) -> Maybe you get lucky :D
I've added some pictures, but I'm colourblind so don't blame me if anything colourrelated is off. I just wanted to sketch an image of her. Couldn't get the blue out of her hair either but it's good enough I guess :)
All feedback is welcome, although I doubt I have enough time to change anything since I even had to make this post sitting on the toilet :D
Damn you school and work!
PS:
* All her bio-data like height, etc. are completely made up and can be changed. I just chose them randomly.
* The possible storylines I made up were destined for SG1, but with some adaptations in her background she can be used in a later SG too...-
kotomifan Great pic. Intriguing story. And I like this trend to characters that fit the story, but at the same time, make us rethink the story. What does SimMan need cameras for, who put them there, and who fixes them?
Question:what would be the path from meeting her to dating her? And where would you hide her if you're already hiding Karin (or would that part go away?) - 21 more comments

XToday I've received another very welcome surprise from Canada in my mailbox.
Although I had complete trust in SimMan, I'm very happy to see the order and delivery happened just flawlessly. Its packaging is also very discrete. It's just a small, brown packet that states it's a gift with a T-shirt, mouse pad and art book in it.
I hope this puts anyone's troubled mind at ease about not being able to receive it in their country or about any faults in the service.
I've only checked out the content rather quickly but I've seen enough to know it's awesome :)
I won't spoil the surprise by going into too much detail, but I'll just vaguely describe what it’s all about.
As I already said you have the T-shirt, that fits me perfectly by the way. You also have a sexy mouse pad that I’ve held in my hands in the exact same way as in the photo too many times already :p
Then I saw a little square thingy of which I couldn’t quite figure out what it’s for. It’s not that visible in the photo but it feels like a tiny mouse pad with the LoveMore logo on it. It’s not a magnet or a sticker. Hope I’m not just being a complete idiot right now, but if anyone knows please do tell me because not knowing will keep me up all night :D
edit: Lots of thanks to Antoniosan for telling me the purpose of the little square thingy. It's for wiping the screen which might come in handy when playing SG LoveMore :p
update from SimMan: http://simgirls.socialengine.com/post/1909768/lovemore-screen-cleaner-for-phones
But what’s the most fun is the art book which holds a lot more information and beautiful pictures –and some pretty hot too, don’t worry- than I expected. If SimMan put so much time and effort into creating such a realistic, detailed art book than I can only imagine what the game’s going to be like. I’m not posting any content from the book itself but I will say it contains bio’s, profile pictures and in-game scenes as well as background information that will come in handy while playing the game. And the beautiful message of love SimMan wrote on the final page is something I enjoyed reading too and of course agreed with wholeheartedly.
Last but not least, I’ve found the personal thank you card from SimMan which really made my day. Especially since I should actually be thanking him for this great gift to us.
So… THANK YOU, SIMMAN! YOU’RE AWESOME! :)
PS: I read something in the art book I just had to share http://simgirls.socialengine.com/post/1908220/lovemore-art-rayden-x-ana

XAs you may or may not know I've recently received the LoveMore Pre-Order bonus gifts in which I've discovered there are actually 2 characters based on me :)
One of the greatest rewards for early active members was to be included in SimGirls LoveMore, a reward that only 3 members received at the time. Those members were me, Anna and Soham Banerjee. We got the privilege to send SimMan a couple of pictures of ourselves after which he gave us a role in-game and showed us a first draft of our characters.
Later on, more members got the honour of becoming a supporting character and my character got revised quite a bit to look more like me, but I see now the early sketches of Robin were actually still used. They created Rayden with them who was married to my good friend Ana :)
It gets even better though since Ana had a falling out with Blackspears and is now deceased, just like the Anna-profile in this community.
I love how SimMan did not only include important real life events but also small details that only members of this community will get :)
You clearly put a lot of effort and thought in this game, SimMan.
Congratulations with what I now already know, will be one of the greatest games I've ever played.
Oh, and I almost forgot since I was so excited about my early drafts appearing in the art book but it's very decent of you to not have forgotten about the early members who helped build this community even though some, like Anna, are now gone.
So it seems you're not only a great game director, but a great person as well :)

XFrom Friday night to Saturday night I'm going to be competing in "Dodentocht" (translation: Trip of the dead) which is a 100 km (65 miles) hike through Belgium that you have to complete in between 8 and 24 hours.
I've never actually tried anything like this before, but always like a good challenge so I thought why not give it a try :)
Anyway, I'm also planning on doing a 3-day survival course in Scotland this summer but since I've got 2 months off until I'm back to school -yes, I decided to study some more :p - I've got plenty of time for more "challenges".
So if anyone knows any activities that could be interesting for me to give a try I'd be happy to hear them. Or, if anyone has ever done long hikes through the woods and has some tips for me that'd be just as good :D
PS: I live in Belgium so if it's not in Europe I probably won't be able to do it this year, but who knows maybe when I'm older and have enough money for travelling...-
Keiryu well i enjoy hiking and walking in general there are a few things i can recommend for training but in the end it is all up to what you want to do and if it is serious or just for fun.
1. Train Regularly: You should work out at least once a week but personaly i recommend to do it twice(Three if the time you have allows it) with interval so it would be like this at the end of the week(if you work out three times a week). "1. Training, 2. Rest, 3. Rest, 4. Training, 5. Rest 6. Rest 7. Training."
2. Cold Feet: You should bath your feet in cold water every day that way the skin will harden and hurt less while taking long walks.
3. Healty Food=Healty Body: You should take good care of what and how much you are eating to prevent to much weight gain or weight loss you should also avoid Alcohol,Tabaco and the occasional Ganja...;D
4.Wear a Backpack: You know those Rucksacks you see many climbers walk around with i recommend getting on to and filling it with stuff(Water Bottles for example) and juust walk sure you might look like an idiot to some but it realy improves your strenght and endurance after some time...plus ou always have water with you that way. ^_^
5. Music Helps: you should listen to music while working out/walking especialy music that gets your blood pumping and can give you a boost in moral(depends on you if you are like Chriskris it would probably be Barbie Girl. ;D
6. Time Management: Know exactly if what you want to do can be done in accordance to the time you have so do´t try to walk to Las Vegas if you have to work on monday...trust me it is much better to take one or two hours and get to your target then waste 6 or 7 and in the end just failing to reach your target.
7. DRINK DRINK DRINK: Water is your best friend always carry enough for you to drink water is even more important then food so don´t be shy to go BOTTLES UP!!!
8. Warm Up: probably one of the most important things you have to do don´t just start Working out without warming up first those 5 or 10 minutes you think you wasted are actualy going to make a big difrence.
9. Slow and Steady Wins The Race: You should avoid rushing into things instead of running you can just walk and slowly find your own pace and once you have found one you should keep going at it even if it might be just a slow walk you will end up going much farther then the dude who takes off at top speed right at the start.
10: HIT THAT TARGET!!!: You should realy aim for something maybe Weight loss or muscle gain or just becoming a bit fitter that way you end up having a real target that you want to achieve.
So yeah other then that you should just hope for the best and have fun of course there are many more things you can do but like i said it realy depends on how far you want to go and sadly i just don´t have that much knowledge about the "Dodentocht" to help you out since location terrain weather and so much more should be considered heck even your mood needs to be considered so yeah i don´t think i can help you for the actual hike but i still wish you luck .- Robin and

XIt's nothing serious but I've noticed that every time the motorcycle with the gun (re)loads (both at the beginning of the game and right after the enemy uses his swinging weapon ) he clearly shoots his weapon but no gunshot comes out. It's just a second so it's hard to take a screenshot, but just start the game and instead of watching your guy watch the enemy. You'll see the first shot when he takes out his gun is always a blank.
If I'm not making myself clear just let me know and I'll try to explain myself better.-
Natsu Dragneel Ok, i'll tell what i found, but i don't know if that is bug.
Sometimes are shots very fast and that girl with gun shoots two shots in half second
and maybe there is another one, if the bad guys go out of window and then they'll come back, they just drive to me so fast, that i can't dodge
But i think this minigame is good playable now and there are no big bugs

XI used to think everything about the Japanese culture was great... but then I read this :p Eyeball-licking or oculolinctus is the newest fad among Japanese youngsters. This fetish, called "worming" amongst teens, is pretty self-explanatory. You lick the eyeball of your partner with the tip of your tongue to create an arousing, tingly feeling. Experts are already worried about epidemics of pinkeye and even eye herpes. They recommend developing special tongue rubbers :p Ah well, at least they're comfortable with doing what they love and I guess it's probably not even the weirdest fetish I've encountered. I just remembered they were the ones that invented tentacle rape as well. Oh and furries, and sex with robots, and Yaeba, and donut heads, and... XI'm not doing that much this summer actually. Staying at a holiday resort with my family for a week and maybe I'll go camping or visit the beach for a weekend. I've also signed up for a special training course at the school gym, because I've been kind of lazy lately. Not planning on becoming the guy in the picture though :D The rest will mainly be filled with just hanging out at home or with friends and spending a lot of time on Simgirls and Blackspears of course :p So what are your plans for the summer?

XToday I've received a very welcome surprise from Canada in my mailbox. I'm very proud and almost ecstatic to announce I'm the very first owner of the Simgirls Black Collection DVD :) I'm so lucky to be a test subject! Thanks, SimMan. Everything went well and the DVD is in perfect shape, so I guess others will soon be able to claim their reward as well. It took him about 7 days to get here (including 1 weekend). It was sent the 10th of June and I received it the 17th. For those members, like me, who are concerned their parents will accidentally open it, I can assure you there's no need for that. It's shipped in a simple white, completely sealed square envelope and if you're parents open that it would be on purpose in which case you've got more reason to be ashamed of their behaviour than vice versa :p I'm going to check out the content now and then I'll let know a little more about this. I won't post any drawings though because I don't want to spoil the surprise :) Oh well, maybe just my favourite one as a tease :p

XThis is a new single from the Belgian singer-songwriter Stromae. It's called 'Papaoutai', which you pronounce as "Papa, où t'es?" meaning "Daddy, where are you?" It's an autobiographical song about a boy trying everything he can to get his daddy's attention but he doesn't seem to care. He's always absent or busy with work and never has time for him. Whenever he's home he's too tired for any father-song activities so his mother takes care of the boy and tries to make excuses for his father. I've got to warn you. All his music is in French, but I still really like it though. The lyrics are so meaningful and he combined them with a very catchy tune :) A great song in my book, but I might be kind of biased because we don't have that many good Belgian artists to begin with. Another song of him is "Alors on dance" about the way people cope with their corporate lives. You can find that one here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHoT4N43jK8
-
Robin You've got to interpret the video as follows:
His daddy is like a living doll who's present physically but not emotionally/mentally. While all the other fathers and sons or mothers and daughters are doing something together outside his father just acts like an inanimate. Then he says something about everybody knowing how to raise a child, but how do you raise a father. After this he tries even harder to impress his dad and tries to imagine what it could be like but in the very end he finally gives up after countless efforts and becomes as emotionally "dead" as his father.
Both are now just sitting next to each in their couch without saying a word like 2 lifeless dolls.- Eddy and

XFor me the hardest part of the game by far is taking care of Karin. My favourite leveling up-moment is definitely the pet becoming a maid :) I'm always so focused on getting good stats and dating the girls I just completely forget about her until one day I think: "Oh my god, I totally forgot about the semi-nude girl in my basement!". That's a sentence I never thought I'd say :p What's your personal struggle when playing this game?

Nosebleed
XI've always wondered why men in anime get nosebleeds when they're aroused. Is this the equivalent of women who start blushing? Blood rushes to their head and so their nose starts bleeding? Because in normal, healthy men that's not where the blood rushes too :D Does anybody have any thoughts or theories on this matter?

What's your fetish?
XOver the years I've seen SimGirls grow not only storywise but also in variety of fetishes it picked up. I've seen foot fetishes, girl-on-girl, public indecency, golden showers, spanking, anal sex, used underwear, sex slaves, sex parties, bukakke, rape, enjo kosai, humiliation, tentacles and monsters,... The list goes on and on :p Like everybody there were certain things I love more than others. I, for example, don't get what's so hot about urinating on someone or licking a girl's foot :) Not that I can't enjoy those scenes, but I could do without it. If I have to choose one thing I love the most I think it's the thrill of being able to get caught. I'm talking about the extra tension you get by doing something "naughty" while people are nearby or while there's a chance they might see what you're doing. I'm thinking about the first hidden scene with Tomoko in the Changing Room or the one in the diner where you looked under the table to check her underwear. So I don't know if it has a specific name, but that's what I love the most :D What are you guys' favourite fetishes? And what are some real turn-offs for you?
-
(deleted) My fetishes: bondage, exhibitionism, spanking, being tied up to machines, and mild pain are a couple. I'm also bisexual, so I have weird fetishes when it comes to both genders. For example, I like being totally submissive to a guy, but I love dominating women. I also love it when women wear lace stockings and secretary outfits. It's kind of weird, I know. I also have a weird thing for collarbones. Not that I want to rub my vagina on someone's collarbones, I just think they look nice. :)

But yeah it's hipster crap...Let's face it no one who works for several hours on a computer. (Which is what i assume those things are made for since i am definetly not gonna be drawing the next Monalisa on it.) Will want to stand on such a thing...
It would just start killing your legs anywhere after 1 hour...Imagine that thing in schools...Pure torture...No no i mean it it would be serious torture it's actually a thing. Standing was literally used by the Nazi's to torture people...
So now i ask why should i pay some guy for something the Nazi's would have done for free? o.O
So yeah definetly a fad a very dumb fad....Consider it like trying to take a shit inside the kitchen sink...You might succeed but in the end you will feel like a dumbass...
